Drift

Learn the sleep techniques
clinicians teach.

Drift is a private sleep journal that teaches the CBT-I techniques clinicians use — a guided plan you follow yourself. Log a 60-second morning diary, watch your sleep efficiency against an honest 85% goal line, and follow a weekly sleep-window plan built from your own entries.

What makes Drift different

A plan, not just a chart. Each week Drift reviews your diary and suggests how your in-bed window could change, using the published sleep-restriction titration rules (AASM clinical practice guideline, Edinger 2021) with a hard 6-hour minimum window. Every suggestion shows its reasoning — nothing is a black box, and you stay in control.

No fake sleep score. Drift shows your real sleep efficiency — time asleep over time in bed — against the 85% goal used in the published literature. No proprietary composite number, no gamified grade.

Built for real schedules. A shift-work track for rotating rosters, a perimenopause track that doesn't penalise vasomotor wake-ups, and a pain-aware track with a gentler floor. The diary accepts any sleep and wake time, including cross-noon schedules.

Reads Apple Health, never writes to it. With your permission, Drift reads sleep stages, HRV, resting heart rate, and respiratory rate so your morning diary is confirm-not-type. Drift never writes entries back to Apple Health, so it can't alter or corrupt your existing health data.

Audio stays on your iPhone. Snore, cough and sleep-talk detection runs entirely on-device with Apple's Sound Analysis. Only event labels sync — never a second of audio.

Drift is a private journal and educational tool, not a medical device. It teaches published CBT-I techniques but does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Restricting time in bed can increase daytime sleepiness — never drive or operate machinery while drowsy. If your sleep problems are severe, persistent, or create daytime safety risk, please talk to a clinician.
